Steal our workplace policies

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a core pillar of our workplace policies, reflecting Verve Super’s aims of building a cleaner and more equitable world for women+. Our employee policies, including our parental leave and menstrual and menopause leave policies, have worked out so well that we decided to share them! Help yourself to our open-source leave policies to use as a template for your workplace.

At Verve Super we believe that a more equitable and ethical society can change the world. With women+ at the heart of everything we do, we make sure we walk the talk, too. Our people help drive us forward, powered by our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion. We want to change the world – and that includes the way we work and do business.

We’re not just talking about diversity and inclusion (DEI), we’re actively embedding it into everything we do. This extends to the suppliers we look for and of course the investments we make.

Our progressive workplace policies make sure we’re walking the talk.  They apply right across our parent company, Future Group, to the employees working behind the scenes on your super. But we don’t believe in keeping them under lock and key. To change the world, ideas must be shared.

That’s why we’ve made all of our DEI and workplace policies completely open-source. That’s right – you (or your HR people) can access them, share them, use them as templates, adapt them and apply them in your own workplace.

What’s inside our DEI workplace policies?

Our open-source policies are a practical HR resource that any organisation can use to build a more inclusive and fair workplace. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s available.

Types of leave

Clear guidelines on the different types of leave we offer our people, including mental health leave, family and domestic violence leave, and cultural leave, which support the diverse needs of working people.

Reconciliation initiatives

In recognition of our colonial history and Anglo-centric calendar, we strive to support First Nations justice and reconciliation. Feel free to copy or customise our Pay the Rent, First Nations cultural leave and ethical supplier guidelines to suit your organisation.

Workplace policy templates

Copy and paste any of these policies to create fully customisable HR tool that can be implemented to create a workplace where everyone feels supported.

DEI initiatives

Our policies include a range of initiatives designed to make any workplace more diverse, welcoming and equitable for all genders, ages and cultural backgrounds.

These policies aren’t just words on a page. They’re a toolkit designed to make change happen. And the best part? They’re all available for you to steal!

Why our workplace policies are open source

The power of open-source DEI and workplace policies lies in their ability to drive systemic change. By making these resources freely available we aim to break down barriers and help workplaces everywhere to put people first.

It’s not just about access, it’s about action. These policies can be used as they are, or as customisable templates to support your workplace to be even more inclusive, offering opportunities for all employees to thrive regardless of background or identity.

We believe progressive policies are shaping the future of work.

How to use our DEI and workplace policies

1.       Have a read: Our parent company, Future Group, has a list of all our open-source workplace policies  with links to the full policy wording.

2.        Steal our stuff! Copy and paste any policy templates that might help build inclusion and belonging at your workplace, from employee leave policies to procurement guidance.

3.        Customise, edit and implement: Swap in your own company name and if you need to, adapt the policy templates to suit your workplace culture and needs.

4.        Share with your employer: Dial in your HR people, manager or employer and start a conversation about how you could use these in your business. The more people who have access to these tools the more impact we can all have on building a better, fairer world.

Join us in leading the change

We’re inspired by our Verve Super members, who are leading the charge for gender equity and social justice – and we know that diversity and inclusion help drive this forward. An inclusive workplace isn’t just about doing the right thing, it’s about building better, more resilient businesses that reflect the values we share. And progressive gender policies are good for business, too.

Need some evidence? A report from Bloomberg Intelligence shows that firms generate 3-5% higher returns when there are more women on boards. This supports Verve Super’s focus on gender representation in the boardrooms of the publicly listed firms we invest in – so it’s great news for your super! And that all starts with gender equity-focused workplace policies that help put women+ in boardrooms and keep them there.

We’re here to power change. So go ahead, dive right in to our open-source workplace policy templates, make them your own and start leading the way in creating workplaces where everyone belongs. We understand that – as with any gender inequalities - change begins with action.
