Who are the Verve coaches?
At Verve, we believe financial guidance should come from people who get you, your values and goals. That’s why our Verve Super financial coaches are trained, female financial coaches who understand the unique challenges and barriers faced by women and gender diverse people.
Meet your coaches, Lucy, Tengu and Ana (currently on parental leave).
Coaching vs advice
Coaching is a casual, informative discussion that can help you understand your super and feel more in control of your financial future. Most members find they get the tips they need from the first call.
Personal financial advice, on the other hand, offers recommendations on your super tailored to your financial situation, goals, and preferences. If you need more detail on your situation after your initial coaching session, you’ll be connected to our in-house financial advisor, Lucy, to dive into the nitty gritty.
Lucy will work with you to understand your financial goals regarding your retirement in detail and create a tailored plan. In a personal financial advice session, they can get as specific as you like, helping you with strategies including aligning your investment choice with your risk profile and values, reviewing your personal insurance (Life, TPD and Income Protection only), exploring tax-effective contribution strategies, and assessing if you're on track for a comfortable retirement. Phewf!
What topics can we discuss?
There’s no such thing as a bad question – except the question that doesn’t get asked! A lot of the time the world of finance is confusing, and not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but sometimes we think this is deliberate! It often works to the advantage of financial institutions if consumers are a little bit confused – that's how they get away with charging hidden fees and keep you locked in products that aren’t really working for you.
Our coaches and advisers are the antidote to that, they’re all about demystifying financial matters. You’re invited to quiz them with your curliest money quandaries and they promise to give you straight forward answers. Some common questions the team get include:
What’s the best investment option for my lifestyle
Is now a good time to change options?
How much do I need to retire?
How can I contribute more to my super?
Am I eligible for the age pension?
How does the insurance work?
What insurances do I need?
What about the Support Squad?
The Support Squad is a curated network of external experts, including a career coach and a divorce specialist, who support women through major life transitions. As a Verve Super member, you can access a free or discounted first session. These sessions are specialised and focused on broader life goals and financial matters beyond your super.

These supportive, one-on-one sessions are designed to empower you with the knowledge and tools to make confident decisions about your super and beyond.
Personal financial advice is also delivered by our in-house Verve team of registered advisers, providing provides specific recommendations tailored to your financial situation, goals, and preferences.
What does it cost?
Coaching and financial advice is included in your membership, meaning it’s covered by the fees you pay in your super!
