Let’s be honest… life can feel like a lot

Between work, family, finances, relationships, and the endless invisible to-do list many women carry, mental load is real. And it’s showing up in the data.

Around 8 in 10 Australians report feeling mentally strained most or all of the time, according to new research from Metlife1. This commonly takes the form of stress, burnout, anxiety, sleep problems, relationship strain or feelings of overwhelm.

It’s not surprising, given rising living costs, career pressures and caregiving responsibilities falling largely onto women’s shoulders thanks to enduring gendered expectations. It’s no surprise many of us feel stretched thin.

So having accessible, practical and judgement-free support can make a real difference. As a Verve Super member, you already have access to MetLife 360Health, a virtual health and wellbeing program designed to support you and your family2. Now there’s a new addition: Mental Wellness Coaching.

Powering up our resilience

Australian data shows women perform over nine more hours of unpaid work and care each week than men, contributing to the mental load we carry across home and work life.

And when work stress does spill over, the impact can be significant. Safe Work Australia found that women are more than twice as likely as men to make a serious workers’ compensation claim related to mental stress.

None of this means women are less resilient. It shows that the system asks a lot of us. Having the right support can make a real difference.

Through MetLife 360Health, Verve Super members can now access two Mental Wellness support pathways3, designed to meet you where you’re at.

1. Mental Wellness Coaching Program

If you’re feeling stressed, burnt out or emotionally overwhelmed, the new Coaching Program provides structured support with a mental health expert.

You’ll receive three check-ins with a specialist, who will work with you to provide practical tools, strategies and resources give you guidance and help to navigate what you’re experiencing.

Think of it as guided support for navigating life’s pressures before they escalate.

2. Mental Health Assist

If you’re experiencing mental health symptoms or want to discuss a diagnosis, Mental Health Assist is also there to connect you directly with a psychologist or psychiatrist within 10 days.

During the consultation, you can:

  • Discuss symptoms or concerns

  • Review a diagnosis

  • Ask questions about treatment options

  • Get guidance on next steps

This pathway provides specialist insight when you need clinical advice.

Together, these services provide guidance and support, but are not intended to replace your GP or existing treatment.

How the new Coaching Program works

Accessing the service is simple and designed to fit around your life. Here’s what to do.

  1. Complete the online form and select the Mental Wellness Coaching Program.

  2. Teladoc Health will contact you within two business days to book your first consultation.

  3. Before your appointment, you’ll complete a consent form.

  4. Attend your virtual sessions with a mental health expert and receive personalised guidance and support.

All consultations are virtual and private, making it easier to access expert support wherever you are – and you don’t have to put your camera on.

Designed for real life

We know that mental wellbeing is shaped by everything happening in your life – your career, your relationships, financial stress, caring responsibilities, and the wider systems we live in.

For many women and gender-diverse people, those pressures stack up. And sometimes what helps most is just space to talk, practical tools, and someone who can help you find a way forward.

Mental wellness coaching can help you:

  • Manage stress and burnout

  • Build healthier coping strategies

  • Improve work-life boundaries

  • Navigate big life changes

  • Feel more in control when things feel overwhelming

Many of us are navigating complex pressures every day, so if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or just not quite yourself lately, you’re not alone.

Small shifts can make a big difference – and so can having a professional in your corner.

Getting support isn’t a sign you’re struggling; it’s a smart step toward protecting your wellbeing. The new Mental Wellness Coaching Program is here to help you take that step. Your wellbeing matters: today, tomorrow, and for the future you’re building.
