We’re introducing a new trustee

As of 1 November 2026, Verve Super has a new trustee.
November 1, 2026

When it comes to your super, you deserve to know who's looking after it and how decisions are made. No confusing corporate speak. No unnecessary jargon. Just the facts.

That's why we're letting you know about an important change happening behind the scenes at Verve Super.

Verve Super is a product within the Smart Future Trust. From 1 November 2026, Stewarda Pty Ltd (ABN 56 098 527 256, AFSL 236049, RSE Licence L0000185) (Stewarda) is the new trustee of the Smart Future Trust.

It's a change to how your super fund is governed, and it's part of a bigger move by our parent company, Future Group, to bring trustee responsibilities closer to home.

Let's break down what that means.

First up, what's a trustee?

Good question. Because while super is your money, there's a whole lot happening behind the scenes to make sure it's managed responsibly.

Every super fund has a trustee. A[JR1] [DR2] trustee is the organisation legally responsible for overseeing a super fund and making decisions in the best financial interests of its members.

That includes overseeing how the fund operates, making sure it meets its legal obligations, and holding those responsible for managing your super to account.

In other words, the trustee has an important job: putting members' financial interests first.

Meet Stewarda, Verve Super's new trustee

Stewarda is a superannuation trustee company.

Here are all the technical details: Stewarda is part of the Future Group of Companies which comprises Future Group Australia Holdings Pty Ltd ABN 68 618 367 927, the parent entity of the group and its subsidiaries (Future Group). Verve Superannaution Pty Ltd ABN 65 628 675 169, the promoter of Verve Super is also part of Future Group.

Stewarda is chaired by Jeremy Cooper, a respected superannuation industry leader who previously served as Deputy Chair of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and chaired the Australian Government's Super System Review. Jeremy is also passionate about climate change and has publicly advocated for climate action in financial services.

Stewarda also has a majority independent board - which includes Keri Pratt, Shailendra Singh, Virginia Malley, Lee Brennan and Sharon Davis (non-independent) - bringing experience and independent oversight to decisions about members' super.

So, what does this mean for your super?

The trustee's responsibility will be to oversee the fund and make decisions in members' best financial interests, including meeting its legal and regulatory obligations.

And while the work of a trustee often happens behind the scenes, that oversight matters. Your super is your money, and you deserve to know who's responsible for looking after it.

You also don’t need to do anything as a result of this change. Any existing communications you have with the trustee will continue as normal after the change.

Why is this change happening?

Bringing trustee responsibilities in-house allows for more focused governance by supporting closer alignment between fund governance, operations and long-term planning.

It’s also in line with the best industry standard, with most of Australia’s largest super funds operating with an in-house trustee structure.

For Verve Super, that means being part of a broader governance structure designed to support the fund and its members into the future.

Because building a better super system isn't just about challenging what's unfair. It's also about making sure the systems responsible for managing your money are working as they should.
