Verve Super bringing you more for less

We’re making important changes at Verve to bring you more investment options and financial advice through your super while lowering admin fees.

Big changes are coming soon that will bring Verve Super members more investment choice, lower admin fees, and a new financial coaching offer for financial advice through your super.

What's happening?

Behind the scenes at super funds, money is invested through investment structures called funds or trusts. Verve Super is transferring from the Verve division of the Future Super Fund to the Smart Future Trust via something called a successor fund transfer.

Basically, the investment structure is being set up to make everything more efficient so we can pass on cost savings to members. Which we’re doing immediately, by lowering admin fees.

By becoming more efficient we can also offer more. Immediately after the transfer is complete, you’ll have access to a broader menu of investment options and our in-house financial coaching service.

What is definitely not changing – and we can’t stress this enough – is our values. The investments in your super have the same ethical investment screens, including screening out publicly listed companies with all male boards, fossil fuel companies, tobacco companies and weapons manufacturers.

Your new investment choices

Verve members will be transferred into two new investment options — Sustainable Moderate and the Gender Equity Australian Shares. The Gender Equity Australian Shares option applies all our usual screens, including the screening out of publicly listed companies with no gender diversity on their boards, and tilts towards companies that hold a current Workplace Gender Equality Agency Employer of Choice Citation. That means we’re gaining more exposure to companies that are leading on gender equity!

Verve members will be transferred into a 50/50 split of these two options initially because we’ve identified this mix as most closely matching the risk appetite and ethical considerations of the previous Verve option.

Once the transfer is complete, you’ll be able to log into your member portal and choose from a menu of six Verve Super investment options: Sustainable Moderate, Sustainable Balanced Growth, Sustainable Growth, Sustainable High Growth, Sustainable Alternatives Growth and Gender Equity Australian Shares!

Stay tuned for more education about these options once they are live.

Please do this one thing

If you're a member, you need to do one important thing: forward a letter to your employer informing them of Future Super’s new details

Why? As part of the transfer, our unique superannuation identifier (USI) is changing. That’s the number that tells employers which fund to pay superannuation guarantee payments to for their employees. This number is essential to make sure your super ends up in the right place.

While we work through the changes, some services will be temporarily unavailable. We’ve put all the key dates and everything you need to know on our website. Reach out to our team if you still have any questions.

See vervesuper.com.au/ethical-investing for information about our screening and investment processes.
